For dry hair:
Honey helps lock-in moisture and works well when used at the same time as a protein rich nutrient. Apply ½ cup honey to clean, damp hair, add a tablespoon of olive oil to work it through and two tablespoons of avocado or egg yolk. Wait 20 minutes before washing out with cold water.
For normal hair:
The white of an egg has bacteria-eating enzymes that remove unwanted oils, and egg yolk has lots of fat and protein and helps moisturise brittle hair. Scramble a few eggs in a bowl and apply to clean hair for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water (so the egg doesn’t cook!) which also makes the hair cuticle closed and smooth.
For oily hair:
Apply a baking soda paste to your scalp for 2 to 5 minutes once a week to get rid of build-up, and condition the ends with apple cider vinegar for softness and shine. Allow your natural oils to settle by reducing the amount you wash your hair and apply a dry shampoo made with cornstarch instead. After 10 minutes, brush out the flour over a basin.
