Artist Ann Wizer has taken her anti-consumerism message out of the studio and into the marketplace.
She's the founder of the XSProject, which employs Indonesian workers to collect rubbish in Jakarta (18 tonnes of plastic has been saved from landfill to date) and use the plastic to hand-stitch colour-coordinated products such as the Cover Up notebook cover ($15, pictured here in pink) and the Vital Statistics document wallet, $28.
Each product is unique, so they're great for people who like to define their own style.
