Putri, a 7-year-old Sumatran Tiger, receives veterinarian care before her safe relocation to a new habitat where she can thrive and be part of the continued regeneration of the species. This check-up is required by the Government of Indonesia to ensure the tiger's health prior to relocation.

As Taronga Zoo’s Behavioural Biologist, you will manage the daily operation of the Behavioural Studies Unit including keeper requests; site wide enrichment programs; volunteer training, needs and responsibilities; as well as undertake project based research.

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Conservation, this key role will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive enrichment program and a targeted behavioural research program that helps us better understand and conserve wildlife. You will need to be a creative and innovative thinker who works well in a team and has a passion for animal welfare and conservation.

Location: Taronga Zoo, Mosman, Sydney, NSW.
Salary: Clerk grade 6.

Activities include spotlighting and trapping bandicoots at night, setting and collecting cameras and cat lures, and looking at video footage of the secret night-time activities of bandicoots.
