The successful Landshare program, which garners 60,000 participants in the UK, where it began, has arrived in Australia encouraging people to home grow produce with the help of others. The online network unites those with land to share with those in need of land for growing fresh produce.

Held every two years, the theme of this years’ festival is ‘Planning for uncertainty’. Many respected speakers are scheduled, including Nobel Laureates. Most of the festival’s sessions are free, with some events streamed
live on the web. The Town Hall will host a special three-course lunch and session on food sustainability, inspired by fresh seasonal produce grown within 100 km of the Adelaide CBD. Remember our eat local challenge earlier this year? I’ve been keeping it up but with slightly relaxed rules, but it gets a lot harder in winter. I miss the juicy tomatoes I took for granted all summer long!
