‘Power of the Social Flower’ Exhibition

As part of the global Fair Trade Fortnight, the exhibition ‘Power of Social Flower’ reveals the ugly truth behind the beautiful flowers we see everyday. The majority of flowers sold in supermarkets and flower shops are imported from developing countries for extremely low prices and under poor working conditions. Fair trade flowers are emerging as a response to such harsh treatment, as the exhibition will demonstrate. The free exhibition is presented by the Melbourne-based Fairtrade and ethical organisation, Moral Fairground. The organisation plays an active role in forming the Victorian chapter of the global fortnight by hosting a series of other events.
