Join Australia's first MasterChef Julie Goodwin, cooking family the Fultons, science communicator Bernie Hobbs, DIY guru Lish Fejer and the 1 Million Women team to celebrate food, cooking and learn how to minimise your food waste!
The event will involve live demonstrations, entertainment, prizes and refreshments, and is completely free to attend!

As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Justin McPhail and chef Lee Bryant are showcasing their 'bush tucker' skills by putting together a six course vegetarian degustation using ingredients they have foraged from the wild.
Gathered from the Central Victorian forests, the various plants and flowers will contribute to a menu that will display some of the areas indigenous plants and natural produce that the area has to offer, including the small vanilla lily, river mint and manna gum.

Surry Hills Festival 2012

After a few years away, Surry Hills Festival will return to the newly-renovated Prince Alfred Park to offer even more variety of stalls, music, street theatre and food. This festival is a great family day out that also raises money for the Surry Hills Neighborhood Centre. Each year the festival draws thousands from Sydney and beyond, and this year is expected to be bigger than ever.

It's also a good opportunity for budding artists or bands to perform live for a crowd; see the website for details. Those with creative minds and hands are also encouraged to sign up to sell their wares at one of the many stalls.

Surry Hills Festival 2012 returns to the newly renovated Prince Alfred Park to offer an even bigger variety of music, street theatre, food and market stalls.

This is a great community event to bring the family along to, as any funds raised go towards the Surry Hills Neighborhood Centre. Each year the venue is flooded with thousands from Sydney and beyond, and this year is shaping up to be the biggest Surry Hills Festival yet.

This is also a great opportunity for local up and coming artists or bands to perform live for a crowd, or those with creative minds and hands to set up a stall and earn some cash for their wares.
