Australians have proven to be great household recyclers since the council dropped the extra bin off at our homes, but often confusion can prevail on exactly what to recycle and what has to be trashed. Time to sort the trash.

If you’re willing to experiment, you can do a bit of DIY recycling. Grab a stack of paper that you were going to put in the recycling bin and do something crafty instead.
Paper doesn’t cost much money, so we forget that it’s wasteful to throw so much of it out. But when you think of deforestation and the chemicals that get used in paper production, it seems like it’d be worthwhile to see what we can do to fix that.
Our challenge this month is to wear something eco-friendly every day. Let's look at what we've already got that fits the standard - you'll be suprised at what you've already got.
Here's a way you can declutter your office and help get useful paper back into circulation. Why not give it a go before you take your end-of-year holidays?
The paper we use doesn't have to come from old-growth forests or plantation timber. There are so many more recycled paper options out there these days.
Some foods create a 'need' for packaging that didn't exist before: single serves of peanut paste? self-heating, pre-mixed coffee? I really think we can do without them.
