Earth Hour 2011

In under four short years the Australian-initiated campaign, Earth Hour, has become the largest campaign in history for the planet. It has grown from one city, one country to over 128 countries and territories in 2010, to reach over a billion people worldwide, becoming the largest voluntary action ever witnessed.

Earth Hour has just released its official 2011 video, which features amateur and professional footage from some of the 128 countries that participated in this year’s Earth Hour. The soundtrack for the video was provided by Australian band the Temper Trap, who are currently on a sell-out world tour. The video also features features media reports from the night as well as quotes from Earth Hour Ambassadors including The Most Reverend Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Italian Football Icon, Francesco Totti.

Earth Hour -- By The People, For The Planet.
8.30pm, Saturday 26th March 2011.

Comments

I wanted to participate in Earth Hour this year but we already live sustainably and the only source of power comes from the sun (we have 4 well placed solar panels on the roof)..
